[SMM Weekly Review] The market demand for second-life application remained stable this week (June 23-26, 2025)

From the analysis of overall data, rigid demand in the ESS sector remained stable in June. The auto sales boom driven by earlier auto shows gradually faded, and the penetration rate of NEVs in the market remained stable. Currently, consumer momentum in the end-use market is insufficient, and it is expected that the increase in end-use demand will be relatively limited. In terms of market transactions, the market remained sluggish in June, with some second-life battery producers largely refraining from building up inventory and maintaining a just-in-time procurement strategy.

Second-life battery: Based on an overall analysis of the data, auto sales in June have increased, but the support is limited. However, the rigid demand in the ESS sector remains stable. The auto sales boom driven by the previous auto show has gradually faded. The penetration rate of NEVs in the market has stabilized, and currently, the consumption power in the end-use market is insufficient. It is expected that the increase in end-use demand will be relatively limited. In terms of market transactions, the current market transactions in June remain sluggish. Some second-life battery producers are basically not increasing their inventory and maintaining a just-in-time procurement strategy.
